Seed Hawk AgriTechnica Contest Winners
(Langbank, SK) Agriculture is an industry that is known for consistently changing year after year. New innovations in the equipment, crop and livestock sectors are constantly being developed or improved. An important aspect of being an agricultural producer is continually researching new innovations and technology.
One of the best places to gather information and discuss new farming innovations with fellow growers and industry experts is at the various agriculture trade shows that take place throughout the year in locations across the world. While all shows offer a wide variety of implements for display, the largest of them all takes place in Hanover, Germany.
AgriTechnica was established in 1985 and is the most important and the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery and equipment. AgriTechnica 2017 will take place over 7 days from Sunday, November 12th until Saturday, November 18th, 2017 and feature 2,900 exhibitors from around the world.
Over the past summer, Seed Hawk featured the Seed Hawk AgriTechnica Contest, a contest to win a trip to Europe in November 2017. Each contract signed for a purchase of a new Seed Hawk Seeding System between June 21st and August 31st provided an automatic entry to win a trip for the winner, and a companion, to attend AgriTechnica 2017 in Germany, as well as visit the Väderstad AB facilities in Sweden.
The contest was a great success, and the winner was chosen by means of a random draw. Seed Hawk would like to congratulate our grand prize winners; John and Kim Warkentin from Swift Current, Saskatchewan!
The Warkentins purchased their new 70’ 660bu Seed Hawk Seeding System from Pattison Agriculture in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The Warkentins grow a combination of pulse crops, cereals and oil seeds; primarily lentils, durum and canola on their family farm of 5,000 acres. Kim and John are third generation farmers and their sons, Ethan and Carter, and Kim’s father, Alfred are all very much involved in the operation.
“Getting to see the factory in Sweden and the Agritechnica show in Germany is an incredible opportunity we would never have had without winning the contest. Seed Hawk agreeing to let us bring our boys along for the whole experience will make the trip even better. “ says Kim.
This will be their first Seed Hawk drill. “Our choice to switch to Seed Hawk centered around seed placement, the seed handling system, seed rate accuracy and the simplicity of the sectional control system.”
A big thank-you to everyone who has entered in our AgriTechnica contest by purchasing a new Seed Hawk Seeding System for 2018.
