Seed Hawk Inc. Develops Metering Gearbox on Air Tanks Hawk Inc.
Langbank,
SK— A new, patent pending roller and gearbox combination will come
standard on all new Seed Hawk air tank models. The new gearbox
eliminates the need for farmers to change seed rollers, as the new
roller and gearbox combination allows farmers to dial up an almost
infinite amount of seeding rate settings without changing rollers or
sprockets. The gearbox provides farmers with an extremely accurate,
user-friendly technology that ensure accurate, fail-safe rate settings
for almost any seed size.
“This technology is a real
improvement. It will improve seeding efficiencies by allowing farmers
to change seeding rates more quickly when switching between crops and
reduce risk of operator error in a very busy farming season when input
prices are at their highest” says Brian Dean, Vice-President and
Product development Manager with Seed Hawk at Langbank, Saskatchewan,
Canada.
The new gearbox is the first demonstration of the value
that Väderstad brings to the Seed Hawk product offerings. Väderstad
purchased a minority share in Seed Hawk in 2006, and as part of the
deal, Seed Hawk has access to Väderstad technology.
“Väderstad
is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of seeding equipment, and our
access to their technology will speed the advancement of our product
offerings. That’s good news for farmers, as we will continue to put
emphasis on accurate seed and fertilizer placement and seeding
efficiency,” says Dean.
Seed

most accurate seed and fertilizer placement systems to help farmers
